American Pistol Lock

Very nice example of a rare American made, pistol size lock.  Would date from the late 1700s

through about 1810  The lock was originally mounted on a light militia style musket but

would be ideal for a pistol, rifle or fowler, also.  Note the very early roller frizzen spring.

Plate measures 4 1/4" X 13/16" and the throw of the cock is 1 5/16"
