Nice, early Continental pistol lock. It could be either of German of possibly Dutch origin.
Would be appropriate for a large pistol or a mid sized Jaeger rifle.
Plate is 5" X 15/16", cock throw is 1 3/8" (correct screw placement would make it a little more)
